One of the oldest forms of healing in the world, acupuncture is a safe, natural and drug-free health care system. Based on the central tenet that the body must be in balance to function at its peak, acupuncture addresses the flow of energy (called chi, think of your body's nervous system), throughout the body along specific pathways called meridians. When this energy is flowing smoothly, the body is in balance and good health ensues. When blood flow or neurological functioning is impinged, pain and disfunction show up in our body systems.

Acupuncture is the careful insertion of sterile, disposable, hair-thin needles in exact points that relate to specific body functions along these meridians. This enhances circulation to blood flow and allows the body to expedite its own healing process. Regular acupuncture promotes vitality, enhanced circulation, immune response and reduced inflammation.

According the Federal Drug Administration, Americans visit acupuncturists nine to twelve million times a year. Among the numerous health organizations that recognize the benefits of acupuncture, the National Institutes of Health and the World Health Organization have concluded that acupuncture is an effective treatment for many conditions.

My knowledge of acupuncture is based in what is known as five element theory; a wide lens through which all symptoms point towards root imbalances within organ systems and practiced habits. Over a decade in private practice, I am still actively invested in adding to my understanding of effective treatment techniques, allowing me flexibility in pulling from a well stocked tool box in order to meet the individual needs of each patient. Specializations include; chronic pain, sports injury, muscular degenerative diseases, neurological disorders, anxiety, enhanced immune response, stress management and complimentary support for auto immune diseases, chemotherapy, radiation and fertility. Tiffany holds a Masters in Acupuncture from Tai Sophia Institute as well as being a licensed Acupuncturist in the state of Maryland.
